As always is the case in Denver, there’s a plethora of appetite-stimulating ways to eat and drink your way around town this week—but you’ll want to save some room for Thursday. DiningOut Events’ final festival of the Denver season is going all out on, as Chicken Fight! fest takes over Elitches for an evening of delicious debauchery and all the fried chicken and chicken wings you can eat. Aug. 21: Harvest Celebration “Dirt Dinner” @ Bramble & Hare

Location: Bramble & Hare1970 13th St., Boulder

The harvest celebration “Dirt Dinners” returns! They run through the growing season every Monday at Bramble & Hare, and each week’s menu focuses on a vegetable at its peak of flavor and freshness. With it being late August, it’s tomato time to shine, donning different costumes for every appearance in this four-course dinner. There’s an optional blind wine pairing—red or white, you pick—and the bottle arrives wrapped in burlap and accompanied by a tasting grid so you can play sommelier and try to sniff your way to the wine’s grape and origin. The night embraces the farm theme wholeheartedly, and cowboy hats are welcome. Nay, encouraged! The harvest dinner will run ya $75. More details here

Aug. 22: Whiskey & War Stories @ The Rouge Wine Bar & Patio

Location: The Rouge Wine Bar & Patio7939 E. Arapahoe Rd., Greenwood Village

Experience the only event of its kind in Colorado at this exclusive dinner with one of the legendary horse soldiers, Will Summers. The Horse Soldier Bourbon brand ambassador, a retired U.S. Army Infantry Officer who served as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and the ODA 595 Special Forces team that was the first to land in Afghanistan in response to the 9/11 attacks, is sharing his “war stories” while The Rouge’s culinary director is preparing a four-course feast to be paired with craft cocktails featuring Horse Soldier bourbon—all three of the elite styles produced by the distiller. Aug. 23 & 24: Mizuna Presents The Bear @ Mizuna

Location: Mizuna225 E 7th Ave, Denver

Hey, cousin! We’ve got good news and bad news for you. The good news? Frank Bonanno loves The Bear as much as we do (but probably not for the same reasons I personally love the show, which has to do with wanting to drown in those bright blue eyes of Jeremy White), and he rallied his team at Mizuna to put together an eight-course dinner, complete with paired wine and cocktails, all based on the Hulu hit. Yes, chef! But now the bad news: both nights are sold out. Noooo, chef! But you can add your name to the waiting list. If you do snag a spot, be prepared to drop $175 per person on the experience. Aug. 23: Beer Here! On-Tap Talk @ The Museum of Boulder

Location: Museum of Boulder at Tebo Center 2205 Broadway, Boulder

Step into the exhibit Beer Here! before it wraps up on Sept. 3m and explores “beer on the mining frontier.  At this On-Tap Talk talk with author and Colorado Book Award finalist Ed Sealover. Sealover’s 2016 Colorado Excursions with History, Hikes, and Hops guides visitors on a 30-day tour of the Centennial State, stopping daily at one historical site, one natural site, and one drinking site. In this presentation, the author explains how today’s travelers can dive into the state’s history at both familiar and off-the-beaten-path locations while also drinking in the state’s brewing culture. Bring a notepad and a thirst for road trip adventures. 

Aug. 24: Chicken Fight! Festival @ Elitch Gardens

Location: Elitch Gardens2000 Elitch Cir. Denver

The all-things-fried-chicken fest of fun returns to Elitch Gardens this Thursday and you don’t want to miss it. Why? We did a whole post counting the reasons, but in case you missed it, here’s a quick recap: all-you-can-eat fried chicken and chicken wings from top Denver restaurants and food trucks; all-you-can-drink cocktails, refreshments, and beer, with the former being made by Denver’s top mixologists and the latter sponsored by Budweiser; all-you-can-ride rides throughout the entire amusement park; live country and bluegrass music on five stages; and a dessert disco in VIP. Aug. 25: Hawaiian Luau @ Fortissimo Dueling Pianos Club

Location: Fortissimo Dueling Pianos891 14th St. Denver

Party with a purpose: this Hawaiian luau is raising funds for the Aloha United Way to help them deal with the aftermath of the Maui wildfires. For the festivities, the Fortissimo space transforms into a tropical paradise, complete with island drink specials, sultry tapas, and fiery entertainment. Come dressed to impress in your best Hawaiian gear—if you do, you’ll get a shot of Bacardi Silver on the house. Reserve your seat for $10 here (or risk it and just pay at the door). 

Aug. 26: Garden Dinner @ MASA Seed Foundation

Location: MASA Seed Foundation 1367 N. 75th St., Boulder

Take the trek up to Boulder for a six-course garden dinner benefitting the MASA Seed Foundation, with a menu curated by chefs Cheney Francis and David Arnold to highlight MASA produce. Expect a vegetable-forward meal with a meat course. showcasing the beautiful produce grown at MASA alongside local beers and wine. Each seat is $150 and includes spirited drink pairings. Proceeds go to the MASA Seed Foundation to support the dream of creating a bio-regional seed bank filled with regional, non-hybrid heirloom seeds for generations to come. Aug. 27: Yoga & Brunch 2.0 @ Welton Room

Location: Welton Room 2590 Welton St, Denver

As summer’s end approaches, the swanky Welton Room invites you to come on in for a day of yoga, manifestation, tarot readings, and brunch with Sorara Latiff. The day begins with outdoor yoga at the beautiful Urban Sanctuary Courtyard before heading indoors for a brunch feast starting at 1 p.m. The $58 ticket includes the outdoor yoga and meditation, tarot, energetic chord cutting with Soraya, a gift from Lululemo, one brunch item of your choice, and one mimosa or NA juice of your choice.
